| Contribute to Enhancing Climate Education and Empowering Future Change-Makers | Over the past several months, we've been collaborating with climate literacy experts from US government agencies and education NGOs to develop a top-level guide on the skills and abilities needed to tackle the climate crisis. During consultation conducted as part of a refresh of the [US Global Change Research Program's] influential Climate Literacy Guide, federal staff identified the importance of developing inner skills alongside the technical skills needed for climate action. They identified a range of capacities very similar to those in the Inner Development Goals framework, and so they invited us to join forces in creating the Transformative Skills Guide: Expanding the Definition of Climate Literacy. Aimed at educators and communicators, the document is designed to "expand understanding of climate literacy to encompass the inner skills, qualities and capacities that help translate scientific understanding into transformative shifts in the way we do things, individually and collectively." We need input from the global community to make this guide as effective and impactful as possible. If you're interested in shaping this vital resource, we encourage you to share, review and provide feedback by 21 November 2024. |
